Cars or vehicles that rely on alternative fuels often use fuel other than gasoline or diesel. We’ve seen electric cars, hybrids of gasoline and electric cars, and even solar-powered vehicles over the years. Water-to-gas technology is even used in automobiles to supplement gasoline.

Ethanol is an alcohol made by the fermentation of plant juice high in sugar or crops high in carbs, such as wheat. Brazil began producing ethanol from sugar cane in 1975. Brazil has saved $1.8 billion since then by substituting their daily oil use of 200,000 barrels.

Brazil has already produced 5.4 million ethanol-powered vehicles, which are sold to Sweden and Japan. They were able to supply 900,000 jobs to their people as a result of this sector. When compared to other fuel-powered vehicles, using ethanol as fuel reduced hazardous emissions by 30%.

Hydrogen and oxygen are converted into energy and heat in fuel cell vehicles. The only emissions are heat and water when electricity is utilized to power an electric motor. Cars that run on hydrogen are thought to be the most environmentally friendly. Because hydrogen vehicles only emit heat and water vapour as byproducts, their emissions are regarded as environmentally beneficial.

Hybrid vehicles use two distinct energy sources or motors. The Toyota Prius is an example of a hybrid vehicle. It combines a small gas engine with an electric motor using sophisticated technologies. The car runs on electric motors at low speeds, however on the interstate, both gasoline and electric motors are used. During the procedure, the battery is also recharged.
